Well, Well, Well... another upset this month. After having been absent for awhile before returning to the list in September, Dawn Glazier surged ahead about one week into October and grabbed a commanding lead. Nobody else even came close for the rest of the month, despite the fact that email from Dawn slowed to a trickle after that, and eventually stopped. She may even have once again lost her email. We shall see.
The once mighty Chad also continues to fall. He comes in this month at fourth place. The last time Chad placed that low was back in February 1997. But at 127 messages, this is still very respectable... just not up to old Chad standards. And, to be fair, it was close. Chad had third place until the last two days of the month, when Reni caught up and then on the very last day of the month passed Chad by a single message.
Shannon and Kathy also return after short absences. Welcome back.
Not much else exciting going on this month. I haven't been able to do graphs lately, so it isn't as easy for me to describe the ratrace. This month Dawn did make her effort to win (and succeeded easily) but everybody else seems to be in a nice calm state, just sending normal email. Which is good, since my time limitations make it hard for me to keep up with mail at the moment.
This month marks the first month of the fourth year I have done this contest. Wow. That's a long time.
